We Sri Lankans, who have enjoyed the fruits of democracy for over half a century, have always respected the Burmese people’s struggle against the brutal military dictatorship. The proof of our support is shown the years long campaign we the have carried out thru various means including our website http://www.asiantribune.com to gain freedom for Aung San Suu Kyi.
We are currently disturbed to note that certain Burmese activists in Washington DC have joined with a group of Sri Lankan tamil extremists in a campaign to discredit Sri Lanka’s name.
In doing so, the Burmese activists are doing harm to our valuable relationship in the long term.
We are distressed to note that irrespective of our long standing support for your cause, some of your people would support those who seek to harm us.
At the same time, these Burmese activists, by joining with world renowned terrorists (Tamil Tigers) will bring harm and disrepute to your people’s cause as well.
We seek that you restrian your activists from causing harm to the relationship we have had with the Burmese people and your valinat struggle for a long time.
By misleading the inexperienced Burmese activists to participate in their activities, the Tamil Tiger supporters are seeking to gain from the purity of the Burmese struggle. In the process the Burmese can only lose credibility and be viewed with suspicion, once they are known to be linked to a shadowy group of terrorism supporters.
The Tamil Tigers are banned as a terror group in most nations and are monitored carefully by the FBI. By getting involved with such a group, your struggle stands to lose, and badly.
We trust your community will take serious note of this grave mistake about to happen that can harm both our communities.

စစ္အာဏာရွင္စနစ္ သက္ဆိုးရွည္ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခဲ့သည္ႏွင့္အမွ် အဖိႏွိပ္ခံ ျပည္သူလူထုၾကီး၏ ဘ၀သည္ စုတ္ျပတ္ႏံုခ်ာကာ တိုင္းျပည္၏ အမ်ဳိးသား ဂုဏ္သိကၡာသည္လည္း က်ဆင္းလ်က္ရွိသည္။
ဗိုလ္ေန၀င္း စစ္အုပ္စုမွ ယေန႕ ဗိုလ္သန္းေရႊ စစ္အုပ္စုအထိ တိုင္းျပည္၏ အာဏာ အရပ္ရပ္အား အဓမၼ သိမ္းပိုက္ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခဲ့သည္ ျဖစ္သလို ယခုအခ်ိန္႔လည္း အနာဂတ္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ကို စစ္အာဏာရွင္စနစ္ ျဖင့္ တရား၀င္ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ႏိုင္ေစရန္ အေျခခံ ဥပေဒအား တဘက္သတ္ အဓမၼေရးဆြဲ အတည္ျပဳ ျပဌာန္းခဲ့ၿပီ ျဖစ္သည္။
ဤအခ်က္ကပင္ လက္ရွိအာဏာသိမ္း စစ္အစိုးရ ဗိုလ္သန္းေရႊ စစ္အုပ္စုသည္ ဒီမိုကေရစီေရး၊ ျပည္တြင္း ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရး။ အမ်ဳိးသားျပန္လည္ ရင္ၾကားေစ့ေရး အစရွိသည့္ အမ်ဳိးသား အက်ဳိးစီးပြား ဖြံ႕ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ ေရးတို႕ကို လံုး၀လ်စ္လ်ဴရႈ ပစ္ပယ္လိုက္ၿပီျဖစ္ေၾကာင္းကို ျပဆိုေနေပသည္။
ထို႕ျပင္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ၏ ေမလ အတြင္းက တိုက္ခတ္ခဲ့ေသာ အင္အားၾကီးမားလြန္းလွသည့္ နာဂစ္မုန္တိုင္းဒဏ္ ခံခဲ့ရေသာ ျမစ္၀ကႊ်န္းေပၚေဒသရွိ ျပည္သူလူထုအေပၚ ျပဳမူေဆာင္ရြက္ခဲ့မႈမ်ားမွာ ကမၻာေပၚတြင္ အရက္စက္ဆံုး စစ္အာဏာရွင္စနစ္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း အခိုင္အမာ ေဖၚျပေနသည္။
ဤအေျခအေနေအာက္တြင္ မိမိတို႕ဒီမိုကေရစီတိုက္ပြဲ၀င္ ေက်ာင္းသားျပည္သူမ်ားအေနျဖင့္ စစ္အာဏာရွင္စနစ္အား စနစ္တက်ျပင္ဆင္မႈရွိရွိျဖင့္ လက္ေတြ႕တိုက္ပြဲ၀င္သြားေရးမွတပါးအျခား ေရြးခ်ယ္စရာလမ္းမရွိေတာ့ေပ။ ဤသည္မွာ လက္ရွိမ်က္ေမွာက္ ႏို္င္ငံေရးျပဌာန္းခ်က္ပင္ျဖစ္သည္။

Generation Wave မွ ထုတ္ျပန္ေၾကျငာခ်က္

(၂) ‘အေျခခံဥပေဒ မရွိတာထက္ရွိတာက ေကာင္းတယ္’ လို႔ စစ္အစိုးရကေရာ၊ သူ႔ေနာက္လိုက္ေနာက္ပါမ်ားကပါ ေျပာေဟာ ေရးသားေနၾကတာ ေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။ ဒါဟာ သူတို႔ေရးဆြဲထားတဲ့ ‘အေျခခံဥပေဒ’ မွာ ခ်ဳိ႕ယြင္းအားနည္းခ်က္ေတြ အ မ်ားႀကီးရွိေနေၾကာင္းကို တဖက္လွည့္နဲ႔ ၀န္ခံေနတာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ‘ျပည္လံုးကၽြတ္ဆႏၵခံယူပြဲ’ မွာ ျပည္သူလူထုက ကန္႔ကြက္မဲ ေတြေပးၿပီး ပယ္ခ်မွာကို အစိုးရိမ္ႀကီး စိုးရိမ္ေနေၾကာင္းကိုလည္း ျပသတာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သူတို႔ေရးဆြဲထားတဲ့ ‘အေျခခံဥပေဒ’ မွာျဖင့္ရင္ ဘယ္အခ်က္ေတြ ဘယ္အခ်က္ေတြကေတာ့ ေကာင္းကြက္ေတြရွိပါတယ္ဆိုတာကို ရွင္းမျပႏိုင္ဘဲ ‘မရွိတာထက္ ရွိ တာက ေကာင္းတယ္’ လုိ႔သာ ေျပာေနရတာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
အဲဒီေလာဂ်စ္ (ယုတၱိေဗဒ) မွားပါတယ္။ ‘ေဆးမေသာက္ဘဲေနတာထက္ ေဆးေသာက္တာ ေကာင္းတယ္’ ဆိုၿပီး အဆိပ္ေဆး ကို ဇြတ္တိုက္ေနတဲ့ေလာဂ်စ္ပဲ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္၊
(၃) ျပည္သူလူထုမွာ အားလံုးေထာက္ခံႏိုင္တဲ့ ‘အေျခခံဥပေဒ’ ရွိပါတယ္။ အဲဒါက ‘၁၉၄၇ အေျခခံဥပေဒ’ ျဖစ္ပါ တယ္။ အမ်ိဳးသားညီၫႊတ္ေရးအေျခခံနဲ႔ ေရးထားတာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ေခတ္နဲ႔အညီျပဳျပင္ (update) လုပ္ဖို႔ပဲ လိုေကာင္းလိုပါ လိမ့္မယ္။

ျပည္လုံးကၽြတ္ဆႏၵခံယူပြဲႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ သိရွိထားရမည့္အခ်က္မ်ားႏွင့္ လုပ္ေဆာင္ရမည့္အခ်က္မ်ား
၁။ ဆႏၵမဲေပးပိုင္ခြင့္ရွိသူမ်ားစာရင္းကို (၇)ရက္ ႀကိဳတင္ ေၾကညာရမည္ ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
၂။ ဆႏၵမဲေပးပိုင္ခြင့္ရွိသူမ်ား စာရင္းတြင္ မိမိတို႔၏ အမည္ ပါ/ မပါ ႀကိဳတင္ေလ့လာရပါမည္။
(က) မပါလွ်င္ သက္ဆိုင္ရာ ရပ္ကြက္/ေက်းရြာ ေကာ္မရွင္သို႔ တင္ျပႏိုင္သည္။
(ခ) ျဖစ္ႏိုင္လွ်င္ ေသဆုံး/ေျပာင္းေ႐ႊ႕သြားေသာ ဆႏၵမဲေပးသူမ်ားစာရင္းကို ႀကိဳတင္ျပဳစုထားပါ။
၃။ မဲ႐ုံမ်ားႏွင့္ မဲ႐ုံပတ္၀န္းက်င္သည္ လွ်ဳိ႕၀ွက္ဆႏၵမဲေပးစနစ္ကို ထိခိုက္ျခင္း ရွိ / မရွိ ဂ႐ုစိုက္ပါ။
၄။ မဲ႐ုံစတင္ဖြင့္လွစ္သည့္အခ်ိန္၌ မဲပုံးမ်ားတြင္ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္ႏွင့္ အျခားပစၥည္း တစ္စုံတစ္ရာ မရွိေၾကာင္း (၅)ဦးထက္မနည္း မဲေပးခြင့္ရွိသူမ်ားအား ျပသရမည္။ မဲပုံးကို လုံၿခံဳစြာ ပိတ္ျခင္း ရွိ / မရွိ စစ္ေဆးၾကည့္႐ႈ႕ပါ။
၅။ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္တိုင္းတြင္ ေကာ္မရွင္အမွတ္အသားႏွင့္ မဲ႐ုံမွဴးလက္မွတ္ ပါ / မပါ စစ္ေဆးပါ။ ယင္းအမွတ္အသားႏွင့္ လက္မွတ္ မပါလွ်င္ ပယ္မဲ ျဖစ္လိမ့္မည္။
၆။ လွ်ဳိ႕၀ွက္မဲေပးစနစ္ကို ထိခိုက္ေစသည့္ အမွတ္အသားပါသည္ဟု ယူဆလွ်င္ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္ကို ျပန္လည္လဲလွယ္ေပးရန္ ေတာင္းဆိုပါ။
၇။ ဆႏၵမဲေပးရာတြင္ ေထာက္ခံလွ်င္ အမွန္ ( ) အမွတ္အသားကိုလည္းေကာင္း၊ ကန္႔ကြက္လွ်င္ ၾကက္ေျခခတ္ ( ) အမွတ္အသားကိုလည္းေကာင္း ေရးသားေဖာ္ျပရမည္ ျဖစ္သည္။ (မိမိ၏ လြတ္လပ္ေသာဆႏၵအရ ကန္႔ကြက္ေၾကာင္း ၾကက္ေျခခတ္ ( ) ျခင္းသည္ ျပည္လုံးကၽြတ္ဆႏၵခံယူပြဲ ဥပေဒႏွင့္ လုံး၀ ၿငိစြန္းျခင္း မရွိပါ)။
၈။ ပယ္မဲ မျဖစ္ေစရန္ သတိျပဳပါ၊ သတ္မွတ္ထားသည့္ အမွတ္အသားမပါေသာ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္၊ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္အတုျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း မဲ႐ုံအဖြဲ႕က စိစစ္ဆုံးျဖတ္ထားသည့္ လက္မွတ္ႏွင့္ တစ္နည္းနည္းျဖင့္ ပ်က္ဆီး၍ မဲပုံးထဲထည့္ထားသည့္ ဆႏၵမဲလက္မွတ္တုိ႔သည္ ပယ္မဲျဖစ္သည္။

၁၀။ ကိုယ္စားလွယ္အျဖစ္ မဲေပးခြင့္မရွိပါ။ မ်က္မျမင္မ်ားႏွင့္ ကိုယ္လက္အဂၤါ မသန္မစြမ္းသူမ်ား မဲေပးရာတြင္ လွ်ဳိ႕၀ွက္မဲေပးစနစ္ကို မထိခိုက္ေစပဲ မဲ႐ုံအဖြဲ႕က ကူညီျခင္း ဟုတ္ / မဟုတ္ ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ပါ။
၁၁။ ဆႏၵမဲေပးခ်ိန္မွာ နံနက္ (၆)နာရီမွ ညေန (၄)နာရီအထိ ျဖစ္သည္။
၁၂။ မဲ႐ုံမပိတ္မီ မဲ႐ုံပရ၀ဏ္အတြင္း ေရာက္ရွိေနသူမ်ားအနက္ ဆႏၵမဲမေပးရေသးသူမ်ား ရွိပါက၊ ထိုသူမ်ားအား ဆႏၵမဲေပးခ်ိန္ (၄)နာရီ ေက်ာ္လြန္ၿပီးျဖစ္ေစကာမူ ဆႏၵမဲေပးခြင့္ ျပဳရမည္ ျဖစ္သည္။
၁၃။ မဲ႐ုံပိတ္ခ်ိန္၍ (၁၀)ထက္မနည္းေသာ ဆႏၵမဲေပးပိုင္ခြင့္ရွိသူမ်ားစာရင္း၌ ပါ၀င္ႏိုင္ရန္ ႀကိဳးပမ္းပါ။
၁၄။ (က) မဲပုံးကို စစ္ေဆးျခင္း၊ မဲပုံးကိုဖြင့္ၿပီး ဆႏၵမဲမ်ား ေရတြက္ျခင္း တုိ႔ကို ၾကည့္႐ႈ႕ပါ။
(ခ) ေထာက္ခံမဲ၊ ကန္႔ကြက္မဲႏွင့္ ပယ္မဲမ်ားကို ခြဲျခား၍ ေရတြက္ျခင္းႏွင့္ စာရင္းျပဳစုျခင္း တုိ႔ကို ၾကည့္႐ႈ႕မွတ္သားပါ။
(ဂ) ေထာက္ခံမဲ၊ ကန္႔ကြက္မဲ၊ ပယ္မဲႏွင့္ လက္က်န္ဆႏၵမဲမ်ားကို တစ္ထုတ္စီ လုံၿခံဳစြာ ထုတ္ပုိးျခင္းတုိ႔ကို ေလ့လာမွတ္သားပါ။
၁၅။ ႀကိဳတင္ဆႏၵမဲေပးသူသည္လည္း အလားတူပင္ျဖစ္သည္။ ႀကိဳတင္၍ ဆႏၵျပဳၿပီးေနာက္စာအိတ္ကို အလုံပိတ္၍ ခ်က္ျခင္း ျပန္အပ္ပါ။

Calling for the UN Security Council to Intervene in Burma Immediately with an Effective Resolution
Ban Ki-moon’s Visit to Burma Suggested, Targeted Financial and Banking Sanctions against Burmese Generals, Family Members and Crony Businessmen Required, Chinese Government’s Pressure Requested
“Prepare for the worst”, said Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, through her party leaders recently, as she was unhappy with the lack of political will of the Burmese military junta to engage in a meaningful and time-bound dialogue with democracy forces, requested by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, her party National League for Democracy (NLD) and ethnic representatives, and supported by the international community, including the UN General Assembly with its successive resolutions and the UN Security Council with its Presidential Statement dated 11 October 2007[1]. (2) We also urge al ethnic political parties and organizations to oppose the military-sponsored constitution, which does not meet the expectations of the ethnic nationalities, who have been working for the equal rights and opportunities among all ethnic nationalities.
(3) We also urge the UN Security Council to intervene in Burma effectively without further delay, with a binding resolution, which will instruct the Burmese military junta to engage in a meaningful and time-bound dialogue with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, election winning party NLD and ethnic representatives immediately, with intention to reach a negotiated political settlement. Measures such as an arms embargo and travel ban against the Burmese military leaders will be necessary to make the resolution stronger.
